D-O 124-07  Battalion Chief Emergency Medical Services
became operational at 0700 on October 1, 2007,Office located at
Station of Engine 26

Battalion Chief EMS oversees the day to day EMS operations.
The Chief oversees four EMS Officers, three Lieutenants and
one Captain on each shift and twenty-two full time medic unit's.
The EMS Chief also has four critical alert ambulances, two of
which are staffed 9 to 9 and 4 more 60 series medics. When the
system becomes taxed, the critical alerts are placed in service
by per-determined suppression companies.

In addition the EMS Chief responds as the second Chief on all
rescue assignments in the City. As well as a multitude of
administrative tasks. The first three EMS Chiefs promoted are
Chief Cheelsman, Perricone and, Shiloh.

Chief Shiloh was the first female to reach the distinction of
Battalion Chief. Remaining as humble as ever, a press
conference was held to celebrate this accomplishment.

The EMS Chief's are lead Deputy Chief EMS Dickson Henry who
will be working out of headquarters.

As this new position evolves, you will see more duties added to
the position.
