Chief Clack rides along with Medic 5 A-Shift, PM Keene and FF/PM Pope. It was an enjoyable time and the
Chief got some good first hand experience of Baltimore City EMS. Chief Clack stayed with Medic 5 until just
around 0100 hours. This was a Friday night and was busy as usual.

June 18 C-Shift  Working Fire

Box 35-6 3617 4th Street Engine 26 and Truck 6 responded at 1945 hours. Engine 35 arrived with heavy fire
showing on the alpha side. The fire was called under control at 2016 hours.
July 19, 2008 Welcome

O'Connor Station Members extend a warm welcome to our newest addition, Paramedic Kenny Baker to
Medic 5 from Medic 17. Kenny also served as a dispatcher prior to coming out into the field as a Paramedic.

The members of the O'Connor Station send their prayers to the Family, Friends and Brothers and Sisters of Firefighter
Ryan Hummert. FF Hummert was killed by a gunman while operating on an auto fire. Use the link below for the story.

July 23, 2008 A Shift Box 57-6

Engine 26 and Truck 6 were dispatched on the initial alarm. Engine 57 arrived with heavy smoke from a
warehouse. BC 1 reports 3 story warehouse heavy smoke showing. Fire found on floors 1 and 2 of a metal
coating factory. Second alarm called for. Engine 26 assumed R.I.T. Truck 6 performed ventilation tasks an
search and rescue.  Good Job by all to hold this one down!!!

July 14, 2008 B Shift  Box 23-3

Engine 26 responded to a fire in underground conduit BGE had to cut power. Companies out about 9 hours.
Truck 6 was manning critical alert 46.  
July 8, 2008 A Shift Haz Mat Task Force 57-14

Medic 5 responded to a sulfuric acid leak. Leak quickly contained and stopped. 2 persons transported.
July 30, 2008 A Shift Box 30-20

Medic 5 responded on the initial dispatch at 0516 with reports of people trapped. Engine 30 reported heavy
fire in two dwellings. A victim was located and Medic 5 assisted with removal, resuscitative efforts were
unsuccessful. 2 Firefighters were also injured but, were treated and released. Our thoughts and prayers
are with the families of those taken and injured as a result of this fire.
August 1, 2008

We will be losing Batalion Comander Dickson Henry (D Shift) to Headquarters. Commander Henry has been
appointed Deputy Chief of EMS. We are awaiting whom we will be welcoming as the new Chief to fill out the
roster.
